Foundations of Yin Yoga + A 5-Element Method for Health and Healing
LEARN AN ANCIENT LONGEVITY PRACTICE USING YOGA AND CHINESE MEDICINE THEORY
In this 30-hour training you will learn the fundamentals of Yin Yoga from a Chinese Medicine perspective, where meridian lines meet asana on a unique platform. Yin yoga is a longevity practice that strongly affects our bones and joints over time. It offers a powerful healing method using the Chinese medicine meridian lines and helps us to cultivate patience, generate energy and find our way deeper into ourselves.
During this immersion there will be 24-hours of in-class learning, consisting of:
- Fundamentals of Yin Yoga
- Foundations of Chinese Medicine and The 5 Elements
- Asana and it’s relationship to Meridian Theory
- Yin Therapeutics - Sequencing for pathologies and life stages
- Balanced Sequencing for Dynamic Qi Flow
- Qi Cultivation, Breath Practices and Mindfulness
- Effective Hands on adjustments to Enhance Qi Flow - through Meridians and Fascia
- Yin Yoga and Fascia - Nutrient Dense Practices
- Practice Teaching/Learning in Small Groups
There will also be 6-hours of self-study, consisting of:
- keeping a practice journal
- reading from recommended reading list
- writing a paper (topic provided at the end of course)
MODULE 1 (October 5th & 6th): Fire/Metal/Water Element Sequencing, Yin/Yang Theory, Qi and Meridian Theory, Mindful Adjustments in the Poses
MODULE 2 (October 19th & 20th): Wood/Earth Element Sequencing and Meridian Theory, Pranayama for Qi Cultivation, Pulling together the Five Elements, Adjustments and Teaching Practice
MODULE 3* (November 9th & 10th): 5-Element Recap, Yin Yoga and Fascia, Yin Therapeutics - Practices for Lower Back, Neck and Shoulders, Digestion, Fertility and Menstrual Disorders, Sense Door Practices to Stimulate Organ Qi, Foundations of Mindfulness in the Yin Practice
COST: $575 for the full 30-hour immersion consisting of 3 weekends or $225 per Module // pre-registration is required.
*Modules can be taken separately as they are cohesively organized for flexibility of schedules. However, You must have taken Module 1 and 2 to participate in Module 3 which includes advanced philosophy and builds on understanding of previous modules. If you have taken other yin trainings and want to participate in Module 3, please contact me directly so we can discuss if this module might benefit you.
